Francis or most commonly known as Frank.
Licenced June 20 1938-1991
A keen DXer and contester, Frank won WIA pennant for QRP DX in 1939 and possesses a large number of DX awards. He was a member of Wooloowin RC 1928, member WIA since 1937 and was foundation secretary Qld Listeners League VK4QL Paddington. Frank was the first country representative on WIAQ council 1945-50 and sub-editor VK4 notes for AR magazine 1948-51.
He enjoyed other activities such as charity organiser, travel, tennis and golf. Retired from school teaching, Frank settled in Toowoomba and was on air till he was called to higher service in 1991. His callsign was passed to me, his grandson, and have been active to this very day. I remember the walls of his shack being lined with awards.....
